Top Five Fantasy Small Forwards

by Stephen Kersey on December 4th, 2007

1) LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
James is not only the best fantasy small forward, he’s the best fantasy player in the NBA this year. While he’s out with an injured finger, once he returns he shouldn’t skip a beat. If you can trade for James while he’s out injured, do so without hesitation.

2) Kevin Garnett, Boston Celtics
In some leagues, Garnett has small forward eligibility. If that’s the case in your league, he’s no doubt the second best small forward around. The scary thing about Garnett is he can play better than he’s currently playing once he gets more comfortable.

3) Shawn Marion, Phoenix Suns
It tells you how good of a fantasy player Marion is that he can be in the midst of a sub par year and still be ranked as one of the best small forwards in fantasy basketball. Once the Suns as a whole start to play better, expect Marion’s stats to improve.

4) Caron Butler, Washington Wizards
Butler has been as hot as anyone in the NBA over the last couple of weeks. He’s been shooting the ball very well in addition to filling up the stat sheet. With Gilbert Arenas out injured, Butler has become the leading man for the Wizards.

5) Andrei Kirilenko, Utah Jazz
Kirilenko had an up and down season last year, but this season it appears as if he’s straightened everything out. He’s back to being a fantasy stud. Kirilenko can help virtually any fantasy team.
