Robin Lopez 2008 NBA Draft Prospect
With his twin brother Brook Lopez on his same team at Stanford, Robin Lopez oftentimes got overlooked. While Brook Lopez has star talent and should be a top ten pick, Robin Lopez has a lower ceiling and should be a mid to late first round pick.

However, what Robin Lopez may lack in hype, he makes up in fundamentals. He’s a very good rebounder and quality defender. Lopez can also block shots and take charges.
While he isn’t much of an offensive player, he also doesn’t miss many shots. The sophomore averaged 10.2 points and shot 53.4% from the field. His stock jumped up after his inspiring play during March Madness.
In the 2008 NBA draft, a team will look at Lopez as a player who can come in and be a quality backup center right away in his rookie season. He’ll never develop into a star but he can possibly become a starting center down the line.
At 7-feet and 255 pounds, Lopez has the size needed to bang in the NBA. He’s not exceptionally athletic, which hill hurt his draft stock a little bit. But NBA scouts love his natural instincts, his fundamentals, his size and his willingness to defend. Those attributes alone will make him a first rounder.
