NBA Second Round Predictions - 2008 NBA Playoffs

by Stephen Kersey on May 4th, 2008

With the first round a thing of the past in the 2008 NBA playoffs, it’s time to take a look at the second round. Which teams will win in the second round to advance to the conference finals? Here are my predictions:
kobe bryant jazz
Western Conference
1) Los Angeles Lakers
4) Utah Jazz
Prediction: Lakers in six. The Lakers are extremely tough to beat when Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol are both playing. The Jazz also don’t have a defender to guard Bryant.

2) New Orleans Hornets
3) San Antonio Spurs
Prediction: Spurs in six. The Hornets are a very good young team but the Spurs will figure out a way to wear them down and get the series victory.

Eastern Conference
1) Boston Celtics
4) Cleveland Cavaliers
Prediction: Cavs in six. The Celtics looked very average in the first round against the Hawks. LeBron James will be too much to handle.

2) Detroit Pistons
3) Orlando Magic
Prediction: Pistons in four. The Pistons match up great against the Magic. The Magic won’t have a chance.
