LeBron James Injury Update

by Stephen Kersey on February 28th, 2008

During the first have of the game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics, fantasy basketball owners around the world held their breath with they saw LeBron James go down the an injury. After limping off the court, things didn’t look good for LeBron and the Cavs.

Luckily, LeBron turned out to be healthy enough to return for the second half. Although the Cavs lost, fantasy owners had to be happy that LeBron’s injury wasn’t too serious.

That said, LeBron isn’t out of the woods just yet. Players frequently are able to re-enter a game – only to be forced to miss a few games after the injury is re-examined. A perfect example of that is what happened with Kevin Garnett. Garnett got injured against the Minnesota Timberwolves, re-entered the game but then missed a few weeks with an injury.

Keep a close eye on LeBron’s status over the next few days. He should be good to go but you should check closely just to be sure. If LeBron does miss any action, picking up Wally Szczerbiak would be a shark move because Szczerbiak would be looked at to provide scoring in LeBron’s absence.

LeBron also became the youngest player in NBA history to reach the 10,000-point mark by scoring 26 points in the game. He now has 10,007 in his young career.
