Gerald Wallace Injury Update
Fantasy owners have to be annoyed with this injury. Right when Gerald Wallace starts playing great, he goes down with an injured foot. After starting the season off relatively slowly, Wallace averaged 23.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.1 blocks. Now fantasy owners will be without Wallace for at least a week.
Most likely, Wallace will be ready to return for the February 10th game against the Detroit Pistons. However, if Wallace’s foot is still giving him trouble, the Bobcats may opt to sit him all the way until February 19th against the San Antonio Spurs.
In the meantime, expect Jared Dudley to start in place of Wallace. Dudley would be a decent placeholder option fantasy wise. He’s not much of a scorer but he’s a good rebounder for a small forward. Although the real winners are the players who will need to pick up the scoring slack, most notably Jason Richardson and Raymond Felton.
With the way Wallace has been playing, fantasy owners will be counting down the days until he’s available to return.
