Elton Brand Status Update
Elton Brand has been cleared to return for the Los Angeles Clippers. When he’ll actually make his NBA return is still a question that has yet to be answered. However, this is good news for fantasy basketball owners as Brand now might be able to return just in time to help your team at the end of the season.
A good bet for Brand’s return would be Sunday, April 6th against the Houston Rockets. That will allow Brand to play the final six games of the season. By doing so, Brand and the Clippers can end their long and frustrating season on a high note.
Some league pundits have questioned the Clippers’ sanity for letting Brand return to action so quickly after tearing his Achilles tendon. With the Clippers season all but ending quite some time ago, the team has nothing to play for. That said, it appears as if Brand genuinely wants to return and the Clippers don’t appear to be standing in his way.
When Brand returns, the best idea would be to wait for a game or two before putting him into your fantasy lineup. Once he shakes the rust off, he should be a solid player in the last four or five games of the season. If you are trying to make a championship push, Brand would be a nice option to stash on your bench if he’s available on the waiver wire.
