Chris Webber to Retire - Fantasy Impact
After attempting a comeback with the Golden State Warriors, Chris Webber will announce his retirement. Webber has had chronic knee trouble over the last five years that have robbed him of much of his mobility.
While Webber never became any type of fantasy basketball option this season, his retirement will have an impact in the fantasy world. First of all, this is good news for everyone else on the Warriors. When Webber played, the Warriors’ pace slowed – which adversely affected fantasy stats for everyone. Now with Webber out of the picture, the Warriors will be free to run and gun as much as they’d like.
Andris Biedrins also gets a boost of fantasy value. When Webber played, he robbed Biedrins of precious playing time. Other players who could get more reliable playing time with Webber gone are Al Harrington and Brandan Wright.
