Brandon Rush 2008 NBA Draft Prospect
Yet another Rush is going to be in the NBA soon. Following his older brothers JaRon Rush and Kareem Rush, Brandon Rush will make his NBA dream come true soon. Currently a member of Kansas’ Final Four team, Rush is projected to be a late first round pick or an early second round pick in the 2008 NBA Draft.
At the end of his sophomore season, Brandon Rush was expecting to jump to the NBA. However, a torn ACL delayed his plans. He rehabilitated his knee and now his NBA stock is rehabilitated as well. With his stats almost identical to his pre-injury numbers, Rush is back firmly on the NBA’s radar.
Rush is a good shooter who also has shown flashes of being a capable defender. He’s not a jaw-dropping athlete but he’s a quality athlete who can turn it on when needed. His leadership abilities and his big game abilities should also help his draft stock.
While he appears to be recovered from his ACL tear, that injury will likely keep him from cracking the top half of the first round. Additionally, while both of his older brothers had solid talent, neither one of them really blossomed. That fact could make a NBA general manager think twice about drafting this Rush.
Overall, Brandon Rush is a solid talent who will be a nice fit with a veteran team for the 2008-09 season.
